It’s been speculated for some time now that Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy might be making X-Men: Apocalypse their last outing with the franchise.Lawrence and Fassbender in particular are in increasingly high demand, so it makes sense that either or both of them wouldn’t want to remain tied to the franchise for much longer. Lawrence has confirmed as much in a new interview, putting the speculation to rest once and for all.
It looks as though Kinberg and director Bryan Singer intend on making Apocalypse the end of a new trilogy, but with Fox’s plans for upcoming Deadpool and Gambit movies and their desire to build a shared X-Men universe, Apocalypse won’t be the last we see of the X-Men.
